ART IN THE CITY: TURIN
We celebrate art from around the world by asking our MUNTHE muses what art means to them and how it shapes the cities they live in. With Art in the City, we aim to inspire, create connections, and celebrate the vibrant creativity and culture that make every place unique.
In this month’s edition, our Italian muse Silvia Caroline takes us to some of her favorite places in her city, Turin.
GAM Museum
(Galleria D’Arte Moderna – Torino)
GAM is one of those places in Turin that I always return to. I love the quiet atmosphere and the feeling of disappearing into art for a moment. The bright spaces and modern works bring me both calm and inspiration at the same time. For me, art is about emotions and reflection, and here I always find both. It’s a place that reminds me to slow down and truly observe the beauty around me.

Galleria Subalpina
Galleria Subalpina is one of the most beautiful places in Turin. I love the mix of history, elegance, and everyday life. When the light hits the old details and the glass ceiling, it almost feels cinematic. It’s a place that inspires me creatively because it balances classic architecture with the energy and movement of people passing through. I love walking here and simply observing the city around me.

Panificio Papale
Panificio Papale is my favorite spot for a slow breakfast before a day in the city. I love the smell of freshly baked bread and the warm, cozy atmosphere. It feels very authentic and local - like a small moment of calm in the middle of the city. I believe fashion and lifestyle are closely connected, and places like this inspire me just as much as art and design do.

Sunset Walks
One of my favorite things to do is simply walk around the small streets close to my home at sunset. Turin becomes so soft and golden at that time of day, and the whole city feels quieter and more romantic. It’s often in these simple moments that I find the most inspiration - the colors of the buildings, the light on the stones, and the feeling of the city as the day comes to an end. For me, that is also a form of art.
